BirdDogHR and the AGC of Minnesota Join Together to Drive Career Seekers to Jobs in Construction

DES MOINES, Iowa – July 21, 2015 – BirdDogHR™, the leader in talent management solutions for the construction, engineering and skilled trades industries, and the Minnesota Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) today announced the creation of a new career site targeting underutilized minority applicants, qualified professionals, skilled trades and newcomers interested in pursuing jobs in the construction industry. The construction Careers Page at http://agcmn.org offers an easy way for Minnesotans to locate and apply for jobs in the construction industry.

The new Construction Careers Page was launched on June 15. The Construction Career Page is a no-fee service for AGC of Minnesota members that will help them meet the growing workforce challenges facing the industry.

“There’s a growing need for new people to fill vacancies being created by the retirement of Baby Boomers and our desire to have more minorities enter the construction industry,” said Dave Semerad, CEO for the AGC of Minnesota. “With the launch of our Construction Careers page, we are able to provide easy job access to interested career seekers in our local communities. Plus, it will play a role in educating individuals on the viability of careers in construction. The more we can assist the industry, the easier we will make it for our members to deliver the quality projects our public and private owners expect.”

“The construction industry offers highly technical career choices that don’t require a college education. The job security being created by the retirements of Baby Boomers makes for an attractive landing spot for Millennials still deciding on a career,” said Bryan May, VP of Business Development at BirdDogHR. “We continue to collaborate with the Associated General Contractors of America and several state chapters like the Minnesota chapter, helping their members find future workers and close the skills gap through software and services designed to help recruit, engage, assess, develop and retain the people they need now and in the future.”
