SEATTLE, Washington – February 7, 2017 – BirdDogHR™, the leader in talent-management solutions for the construction, engineering and skilled-trades industries, AGC of Washington and Inland Northwest AGC today announced the creation of the BuildWashington.com Get Hired! careers page, promoting construction jobs and training opportunities from Washington State contractors in one central location. The new Get Hired! page is part of the new BuildWashington.com website – a collaborative effort between AGC of Washington and Inland Northwest AGC. The Get Hired! page offers an easy way for career seekers all across Washington State to locate and apply for jobs and training opportunities in the construction industry.
The new Get Hired! page was launched on December 20, 2017. This is a no-fee service for AGC members in Washington State that will help them meet the growing workforce challenges facing the industry and the state.
“The construction industry offers a wide range of great-paying careers and training opportunities available throughout the state of Washington. Our construction market is strong and growing, requiring thousands of new people with technical skills,” said David D’Hondt, Executive Vice President of AGC of Washington. “The BuildWashington.com website and its Get Hired! page starts by helping members promote job opportunities and find new talent, but can quickly expand to assist our members developing and retaining their people as well. Plus, it supports our association’s continued effort in educating individuals on the viability of careers in construction.”
“The construction industry provides great security and rewarding career choices,” said Bryan May, VP of Business Development at BirdDogHR. “The Bureau of Labor statistics shows the construction industry will grow by 2.8% annually for the next 10 years. Compared to the high stakes gamble and debt created by four-year colleges and universities, the construction industry will provide a great landing spot for Millennials and other displaced talent. Only the healthcare industry will grow at a greater rate.” BirdDogHR continues to collaborate with the Associated General Contractors of America and many of its state chapters, helping their 36,000 members find future workers and close the skills gap through software and services designed to help recruit, engage, assess, develop and retain the people they need now and in the future.
