U.S. federal law requires companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States – either U.S. citizens, or foreign citizens who have the necessary work authorization. Through BirdDogHR Onboarding and the integration with EMP Trust, employers can electronically verify that their newly hired employees are legally authorized to work in the United States via the E-Verify system.
E-Verify is an internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in partnership with the Social Security Administration and allows employers to confirm an individual’s employment eligibility in the United States. E-Verify is easy to use, fast and provides a response within seconds from DHS E-Verify servers as a background service.
