BirdDogHR and AGC of South Dakota Drive Career Seekers to Heavy Highway Construction Jobs

Combined Effort to Close the Skills Gap and Adds New Hiring Resource for Members


DES MOINES, Iowa – May 5, 2015 – BirdDogHR™, the leader in talent management solutions for the construction, engineering and skilled trades industries, and the South Dakota Highway Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) today announced the creation of a new career site targeted at professionals, skilled trades and newcomers interested in pursuing jobs in the highway construction industry. The construction Careers Page at offers an easy way for South Dakotans to locate and apply for jobs in the construction industry. This follows on the heels of the AGC of South Dakota creating and launching – a site promoting career paths in construction to teachers, parents, students and other underutilized/underemployed workers.

The new Construction Careers Page was launched on April 8. The Construction Career Page is a no-fee service for AGC South Dakota Highway Chapter members that will help them meet the growing workforce challenges facing the industry.

“There’s a growing skills gap in the construction industry being created by the retirements of so many Baby Boomers,” said Toby Crow, Executive Vice President for the AGC of South Dakota. “With the launch of our Construction Careers page, we are able to promote members’ jobs to interested career seekers. This will increase the available workforce and make it easier for our members to deliver the quality projects the state expects for many years to come.”
